Baby shower treats

My best friends baby shower was approaching, and I unfortunately was not going to be able to make it. But, that didn’t stop me from making her a little something. As I was walking around the isles of Joanns fabric store I came across these cute pretzel, and cookie molds. I thought,”Mh how hard can these be to use?” I read some comments online before testing them out since I had no experience with any type of pretzel or cookie mold. A lot of people wrote to mix a tad bit of vegetable shortening to Wilton’s candy melts to get a smoother consistency. So, I did just that and this is what happened.  What a hot mess I know! The chocolate cracked, and some pieces got stuck to the mold. I was feeling annoyed, upset, and discouraged. But, like my mom likes to say,”Hechando a perder es como se aprende.” Which translates to ruining things is how you learn.

For round two I decided to just melt the candy melts without adding anything to them, and guess what? It worked out so much better!       These molds were a lot of fun to work with once I got the hang of them. I highly recommend them.

*If you plan on making a big batch you should consider buying more than one mold. I only had one of each, and it was very time consuming to make them.
