The closet project

I had been complaining to my dad for quite sometime about not having enough closet space. One day when he had some free time off work, we decided to look for a cheap closet storage system but, many of them were extremely overpriced! My dad decided to look on eBay and craigslest for something similar at a more reasonable price. He ended up finding a nice book shelf that worked perfectly inside my closet.

Final outcome  (doors inserted back again not pictured)

The total cost of this diy project ended up being less than $100. I love how it turned out and the bonding experience that I had with my dad.

Night time routine

Wearing makeup gives me security throughout the day. Although, I don’t wear much I feel more confident when I have it on. As the day goes on I can’t wait for nighttime to come so, I can wash all my makeup off to get the fresh clean feel.

First, I clip my hair to keep it away from my face.

Next, I take out my lubriderm lotion which I use as my makeup remover…fancy right? lol It works wonderfully and it’s inexpensive.

I skip this step 85% of the time but when my face needs a pick me up, I like to use this cleanser that my aunt gave me.

To conclude my routine, my grandmother would always tell me an old wives tale how braiding your hair into two tight braids at night promotes hair growth so, that is exactly what I do. Then, after braiding it I put it up into a bun.

Big hair

When I think about my natural hair I laugh. I have thick frizzy hair that looks crazy once it drys after I shower (blow dried or air dried). The only way it looks acceptable in my book is by using heat styling tools and hair products. Although I find myself heat styling my hair only once every 1-2 months because its very fragile. The rest of the time I like to use Africa’s Best Herbal Oil or Garnier Fructis sleek and shine anti frizz serum to tame my frizz.
